Maxwell M. Hart
Max Hart: I began teaching at UMHB in the fall of 1968. Before coming to teach here, I taught Mathematics in the public schools for three years and as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas in Austin for two years. After completing work on my Master’s Degree at Baylor University, I completed two years of post graduate work in Mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin. I also completed two years of graduate work in Linear Algebra at the University of California at Santa Barbara. In the summer of 1987, I provided consultation and research for Blackland Research Center in Temple, TX. As the US / Russian arms race was winding down, I was chosen to participate in a Nuclear Arms Conference in Miami, FL. in 1990. I greatly enjoyed the research and consultation that I performed for the NASA / ASEE Summer Faculty Fellowship Program at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston in 1990 and 1991. In 1998 I was reunited, after 45 years of separation, with my long lost classmate from Jr. High School in Plentywood, Mt. Arleen and I were married in 1999. Combined, we have 6 adult children, their spouses, and 10 grandchildren to date. We are currently involved at Hope Community Church of Belton, TX.
