As the newest faculty member in the Department of Communication and Media Studies, Avery Reese serves as an Assistant Professor of Communication at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. In addition to teaching an array of classes including Introduction to Public Relations, Advanced Public Relations, Editing and Photojournalism, Mrs. Reese also serves as the UMHB Yearbook Advisor. After graduating from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, where she earned a Master of Arts in mass communication, Reese began teaching at UMHB. She also received a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism, with an emphasis in public relations, and a minor in speech communication from Texas A&M University. Prior to starting her graduate work, Reese worked in the public sector as an Information Education Specialist with the Texas State Soil & Water Conservation Board and she also served as the Director of Program Development at the Temple Chamber of Commerce.
