Sarah Brown earned a Ph.D. in English at Texas Tech with an emphasis on early British literature and has been a member of the English faculty at UMHB since 2000. She teaches composition courses, English literature surveys, the Romantics, Shakespeare, and Advanced Grammar. Dr. Brown sponsors Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor society chapter, and is active in Faculty Assembly. Dr. Brown is co-author of a chemical engineering handbook and has presented at conferences including Christianity and Literature and Langdon Weekend and was recently invited to present at a TAIR conference at Baylor. Dr. Brown is accompanist for the traditional service, a member of the Worship and Music Committee, Chair of the North Texas/North Louisiana Synod Campus Ministry Committee, and she recently completed the requirements of the Synod Parish Lay Ministry Academy, a two-year program in Fort Worth.  Dr. Brown has served on her church council and is a prayer minister for the congregation.
