Dr. Rebecca Peterson

Dr. Rebecca Peterson joined UMHB in Fall 2005 as a Professor of History. She previously taught for eleven years at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. She received her B.A. in History from Texas Lutheran College, and earned both her M.A. and Ph.D. in History from the University of North Texas. She teaches World Civilizations and European history courses ranging from ancient Greece to the twentieth century. Her research interests focus on the Lutheran Reformation, particularly Philip Melanchthon and Johannes Brenz, and she regularly presents research at the Sixteenth Century Studies Conference. She is the College of Humanities representative on the Academic Institutional Quality (IQ) Council and serves on the Strategic Plan Stewardship Team.
