Bio

I am a retired public school teacher, having taught most of my career in Temple ISD. My area of instruction has  been Language Arts.  I have taught gifted and talented students, to struggling beginning readers, and everything inbetween.   Having a Masters Degree and ESL certification helped me bridge to the college level after retirement.  I have a heart for students, no matter the age, and I enjoy being able to take them from where they are to higher levels of proficiency.  At UMHB, I have been blessed to work with International students who need assistance polishing their English language skills as they pursue advanced degrees.  It is the perfect job for me!  In addition to my teaching duties at UMHB, I work in my husband's insurance office.  I have two grown children.  Drew is a preacher of the gospel at Southside Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant, TX.  He and his wife Meagan, have Daphne, my first grandchild.  My daughter, Elizabeth, is a dental assistant, and has recently become engaged to an outstanding young man, Nolan.  Brian and I live in Temple with our sweet miniature schnauzer, Lily.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading, crocheting, and traveling.
