I was born and raised right in the Temple/Belton area!  I am married to a wonderful man, Bob Hargrove who is a custom jeweler and goldsmith at Bentons in Salado.  I love to sing, play golf, do anything crafty, and cook!  My full time job is at Texas A&M Health Science Center where I do medical research in liver disease.  I LOVE my job and get to work with amazing people!  I am involved in a wonderful ministry called SAGE Girls Ministries.  In this ministry, I get to travel around Texas and surrounding states with other ladies involved in the ministry and do conferences for junior high and high school girls teaching them what God's word says about how to be Godly women!  I am truly blessed to be able to serve in this ministry alongside of some of the best friends I have!

I have always enjoyed science and really fell in love with biology in high school.  I always thought I wanted to study veterinary medicine until it became obvious with each door that closed in that direction, God had other plans.  I took genetics with Dr. Wood and she asked if I had ever thought about pursuing research.  From that point on I did and thanks to her help and guidance I began work in a research lab which eventually led me to graduate school.  I really enjoyed the academia side of science and after earning my graduate degree, I knew I wanted to pursue that area for my career.  Along with that, the opportunity to teach in biology is a blessing.  With each door that shut with MY plans for Vet school, God graciously opened doors for me to pursue His course for my life in teaching.  And I am still learning that He always knows best!

I am most interested in the medical science aspect of biology - specifically cell and molecular biology and cell physiology.  I find the more I study that aspect of science, the more I get a sense of how awesome God and His creation are!

I am praying for each of my students, that God will bless their studies not only in my class but in all their time at UMHB and I truly hope that they are able to LEARN and APPLY knowledge in my classes and not just memorize.
