Each year, students, alumni, and friends of UMHB have the opportunity to participate in a first-class travel program under the expertise leadership of Dr. Wyrick. The travel opportunities depart after Christmas and return as the spring semester begins. A special 10-day trip to Egypt at Spring Break has occurred in selected years. Additionally, an excavation opportunity in Israel is available each summer for the more adventuresome students. All of these Study Abroad Opportunities to Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Rome, and Greece allow students to receive college credit. A variety of financial aid assistance is available for UMHB students.
Through the years, numerous pastors and church groups have traveled with Dr. Wyrick through the countries referred to as the Middle East. The study abroad programs include first-class accommodations. The hotels provide conference rooms for evening lectures where guest speakers enhance the educational experience. Speakers have included survivors, veterans of the Israeli-Arab conflict, archaeologists, missionaries, officers in the IDF, Palestinian military officers, and workers with Bedouin women. Students have visited in the homes of Arabs and Israelis. UMHB students receive a first- class experience from many educational perspectives.
