David Howard, Ph.D.
Dr. David Howard joined the U.M.H.B. faculty in the fall of 2006. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon where he majored in psychology, and Western Seminary, where he received the Masters of Divinity degree in pastoral ministries. He received his M.A. in Human Development and Family Studies at Kansas State University while serving as a U.S. Army Chaplain 1974-1994. Following ten years of private practice as a marriage and family therapist, he earned the Ph.D. degree in Family Studies at Texas Woman’s University in 2004. As a faculty member of the College of Christian Studies, he directs and teaches several courses in the Marriage and Family Christian Counseling Program, a specialization within the M.A. degree in Psychology and Counseling. Dr. Howard’s wife, Dr. Diane Howard, teaches in UMHB’s Department of Communication and Media Studies. They are the parents of three grown sons and grandparents of five grandsons.
