Overview of Degree Plans and Concentrations/Minors

The College of Christian Studies Offers Two Degree Programs

Each degree program includes core courses required of all UMHB students, foundational Christian Studies courses, and courses for a chosen concentration (in the BSM) or further course selection options. Students in the BA may pursue a minor in the College of Christian Studies or in one of the other Colleges at UMHB. Double majoring is also an option. The College of Christian Studies offers the following options to explore a variety of concentrations and minors:

Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Christian Studies:                                              

This degree allows for flexibility in course selections and consists of:

  • UMHB core curriculum courses*
  • Christian Studies foundational courses; an upper-level Old Testament course and an upper-level New Testament course; a practicum, and a capstone course.
  • 6 semester hours of upper-level Christian Studies electives from two of the following study areas:

*14 hrs of Greek or 14 hrs of Hebrew can fulfill the foreign language requirement.

Minors in the BA in Christian Studies:

Bachelor of Christian Ministry:

  • UMHB core curriculum courses for the BCM
  • Christian Studies foundational courses; an upper-level Old Testament course and an upper-level New Testament course; a practicum, and a capstone course.
  • 6 semester hours of upper-level Christian Studies electives from two of the following study areas:
